Later, Zac risks exposure when a little girl out in the ocean starts to drown and Zac dives in to rescue her. He must find a way to keep his secret while still doing his job. But he has another problem – his part-time job as a lifesaver on the local beach. Meanwhile, Zac manages to hide his merman secret from his father. The girls walk onto land to look for Zac, but find that they have difficulty walking on two legs. With the use of Sirena's Moon Ring, they are able to gain legs of their own.
The mermaids realise that they must venture onto land to find Zac and remove his powers. The episode ends with Zac showing Cam his powers, much too Cam's surprise. After the Mermaids return to the island, Aquata tells them they are being cast out and she gives Sirena her moon ring. He starts to dry himself and after 10 seconds, his legs come back. He swims to the docks by his house and pulls himself onto it. He then falls in the ocean and discovers he has transformed into merman with a long blue tail in front of him. He nearly shows Cam his powers but the mermaids take control of the water so it doesn't work. Sirena, Lyla and Nixie decide to follow him to see if he has powers. The three Mermaids tell the mermaid pod and they blame them even though it wasn't their fault. After falling in, he becomes a merman receiving a blue tail and magical powers. On that night, Zac puts his hand on the trident shape in the mysterious cave and it opens a portal to the Moon Pool. Nixie and Sirena help sixteen year old boys Zac and Cam catch a fish. Lyla suggests that she take the foreshore and they take the rest. They say once they pass their test they will join the them and celebrate.
Nixie asks why she can't celebrate with the Mermaid Pod. Then two members of the Mermaid Pod tell them to go on their duties. This episode begins with mermaids Nixie and Sirena swimming to see who can go faster.
