Ultimately, however, it's her lack of power that may cause you to lead with Godzilla Mothra has a much more difficult time in one-on-one battle against other monsters compared to Godzilla.

Plus the fact that she can travel across four hex zones each turn means that she can travel across each world much faster than Godzilla. Mothra has the ability to fly through any stage, and although she can't necessarily pass through anything, her ability to fly above or below most features means she can't get past many obstacles without ever having to destroy them in combat. What she lacks in strength, she makes up for in maneuverability. While not quite as powerful as Godzilla, Mothra is no pushover. Each play differently from one another, and it's good to know their strengths and weaknesses before embarking on your mission with either of them. Throughout the game, you take control of Godzilla himself, or his monster ally Mothra. Press the Select button to pause the game. Press the Select button on the map screen to receive a password. This uses up a portion of Mothra's power meter. Press Start to unleash Mothra's poison powder attack. This completely uses up Godzilla's power meter.

However, he's ultimately able to kill both as their main special attack–a powerful EMP burst–does nothing to slow him down.Use to move the cursor, or guide a monster, over the maps. Though she doesn't possess wings like the male, the female is even larger but they're both more than enough in terms of size and strength to take on a rusty Godzilla. After emerging years later for an even larger rampage, the female spore awakens also, having apparently survived all kinds of experimentation. Having waited for what can only be assumed to be thousands of years, the male awakens first and goes on a small rampage to find a nearby nuclear power plant to cocoon in and mature. The pair begin their life cycles as parasitic spores which have supposedly killed a creature not too dissimilar from Godzilla and were discovered when a large piece of mining equipment collapsed into the cavern where they had been lying dormant in the Philippines.
